One of Tom's personal favourites, Hake is the national fish of Spain and comes from the same family of fish as Cod.

With its Haddock-like taste and it's bass-like texture, Hake makes for an excellent main ingredient in any top quality fish pie. However, we believe Hake is best when served up as it is on the plate. Also absolutely fantastic in a curry!

Hake is one of our most sustainable fish with MSC certification, and frozen at sea, so great for anybody who has a histamine intolerance

Fresh v Frozen

I wanted the hake having had it on holiday and brought fresh in Port Isaac, Cornwall but was dubious as it was frozen. It's taken me a while to get used to how the fish defrosts but being firm, I was keen to try it fried as opposed to poached or baked. It was delicious! The batter was lovely and the fish was excellent. I will definitely be buying again.

Large fillets

I’ve really enjoyed the hake fillets. I put them into gosh pie or bake them with a bit of lemon butter. They are a tasty and filling white fish.
